By now you might have known what is Covid-19 or Corona Virus. Still for the benefit of all readers let’s understand the history and what is Corona Virus aka Covid-19.

Corono Virus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is an ongoing pandemic (declared as Pandemic on 11th Mar 2020), caused by very severe acute respiratory syndrome coronovirus 2 (SARS-COV-2). Outbreak was identified on December 2019 in Wuhan, China and declared by WHO (World Health Organization) as Public Health Emergency of International concern on 30th Jan 2020.

Corona virus is spread through a person contacting infected person, contracting infected group/community, touching the infected surface (includes any objects). When a infected person coughs or sneezes or talks, even a small droplets that a person comes in contact either directly or indirectly, can get infected with virus.

As per the research done in a lab’s surface, this virus can stay in metal surface for upto 5 days, glass surface for upto 4 to 5 days, plastic for upto 9 days. In real world, the days virus could withstand might be less than what is mentioned above.

This being a respiratory virus, they don’t infect your skin but your eyes, nose and mouth.

Which means keeping your hands clean by washing with soap for 20 seconds, not touching your face with your hand and sanitizing your hands on regular basis could keep you healthy for awhile.

Common Symptoms

  1. Fever
  2. Cough
  3. Shortness of breath

Complications

  1. Pneumonia
  2. Acute respiratory distress syndrome aka ARDS

It’s so unfortunate that the person who gets infected with this virus will not get to know the symptoms immediately. It might take atleast upto 5 days to reveal the symptoms. If a person is not sure that he/she is infected with virus or not, but when the infected person is in contact with others; eventually virus spreads to others as well

Preventive measures recommended includes 

  1. Hand washing
  2. Maintaining distance from other people
  3. Covering one’s mouth when coughing
  4. Monitoring and self-isolation for people are infected or suspect to be inefected.
  5. Worldwide all authorities have taken measures by implementing 
    1. Travel restrictions
    2. Quarantines
    3. Curfews
    4. Workplace hazard controls
    5. Facility closures

Let a person’s immunity fight against Corona virus using simple Ayurvedic remedies.

Ancient Indians always use Organic Lemon, Organic Ginger & Organic Turmeric during Cough, Cold or during Flu seasons.

Certain villages in India even today follow the practice of spreading organic cow dung water every day morning in front of the house to avoid virus getting spread into the house.

People never wear their shoes into the house, so that virus or germs don’t get carried wherever person carries his foot wears.

Having good 7 to 8 hours of sleep (for an Adult) and upto 10 hours of sleep (for Kids) can build your immunity even stronger.

Even today in villages there are practices like “Patchai Pattini Virad(am) and Neer ahara samyama”. ie., during sickness or flu season in India (roughly during Feb and March) for 21 days people used to fast by having only liquid diet. As much as possible person who is infected will maintain distancing inside his/her own house.

Get the bathing water ready (during Flu/virus season)

While taking bath, person can add 3 spoons of turmeric and neem leaves (10 to 15) in the bucket full of water and can take bath. Also it’s recommended that to have Neem leaves near your bed and keep the neem leaves in front of your house.

People wonder where can i get neem leaves. Atleast now let’s understand the importance of retaining such auspicious Neem trees and say no to destroying trees in the name of advancement and development. Today’s technology development or advancement brought only mass destruction to humanity.

Let’s understand what is Patchai Pattini Virad(am).

Keeping your intestines strong by taking absolutely liquid diet will help you operate with strong immunity. Puzzled ? So was I when I heard this practice.

During this Vrad(am), keeping your tummy alway filled with liquid diet like Kashayam or Kudineer once, butter milk several times, warm lemon water, Kanji or Porridge, home made organic herbal juices (not with white sugar), Organic fruit juices without white sugar.

Kashayam or Kudineer:

  1. Add 15 grams to 20 grams of Jaggery cube (Karupatti or Palm Jaggery or Panai vellam) to 2 cups of water (say 300ml)
  2. Add 15 grams of crushed Organic ginger to the water
  3. Add 1 spoon of Organic turmeric to the water
  4. Add 5 pieces of neem leaves or neem leaves to the water
  5. Boil the above ingredients until 300 ml of liquid gets reduced to 150ml or 100 ml
  6. Filter the kashayam
  7. Add squeezed Lemon extract (10ml to 20ml) at the end

Now hot Kashayam is ready to consume.

As Ginger & Turmeric will generate extensive heat in your body, it’s recommended to take 250 ml of Organic butter milk for every 4 hours or so.

Through out the day it’s recommended to take warm lemon water to keep a person fresh.

Horse gram Kanji or Porridge

  1. Take a pan and apply a teaspoon of cooking oil
  2. Take a cup of rice, a cup of horse gram, 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, 1/2 or 1 teaspoon of pepper balls and add to the pan
  3. Saute the ingredients until you hear the pop sound or when rice turns light/golden brown
  4. Switch off the pan and allow the ingredients to cool
  5. Move your ingredients to the Mixer or Grinder and grind the ingredients for 5 to 8 seconds.
  6. Ground ingredients are added to the rice cooker with 1 teaspoon of organic sea salt added (not iodized).
  7. Add 5 to 6 times the cup of the water and cook the ingredients until you hear 2 whistles. (if you don’t have rice cooker, you can add the ingredients with salt to the vessel with 8 times the cup of the water for cooking the ingredients and leave the vessel closed with a lid and small space for steams to escape).
  8. When kanji is warm and ready to consume, you can have it as-is or you can add Organic yogurt to the Kanji and have it.

There are several Kanji recipes you can follow in your diet during this Vrad(am).

During this Vrad(am), people used to chant bija mantra of their ista devatha (say like OM NAMAH SHIVAYA or so) like ajapa japa(ie chanting continuously) to cleanse their body, mind & spirit.

An enlightened master of this era, Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam has mentioned that Patchai Pattani Vrad(am) is the solution for each individuals to fight the Covid-19. Also his disciples and thousands of devotees all over the world, had observed this fast in last 21 days. So that you could also follow such simple and healthy lifestyle.

In person, myself have followed 21 days of Neer ahara samyama and have stayed strong and healthy.
